BRACE is one of a few charities solely dedicated to supporting dementia research and although it is generally considered to be a regional charity the work it supports and the resultant findings bring benefits to dementia sufferers throughout the UK and internationally.

In 2007 BRACE raised a total of £382,000 from its fundraising activities and donations. All donations, no matter how small, can make a real difference.

• £100 will pay for 20 information books which provide family and carers with help and guidance when a diagnosis of dementia is made
• £1,000 will buy a new PhD student some initial equipment to start them on the road to a career in dementia research
• £10,000 will pay for 6 months of research time
